How can I add a prototype-drawing to Helios 3D?
Creating Civil 3D Drawings with Helios 3D using Prototypes
Prototypes serve as the foundation for drawing settings in Helios 3D, and in some cases, for basic objects used in a drawing. By utilizing prototypes, you can establish a common base across multiple drawings, eliminating the need for planners to manually configure settings and perform preliminary work for each individual drawing.
Format
While Civil 3D supports various prototype formats, Helios 3D is limited to handling DWG files. If you have a prototype in a different format, you can open it with Autodesk Civil 3D (without using Helios 3D) and save it as a DWG file.
New Helios 3D drawings are created as copies of the selected prototype, inheriting all of its settings and objects.
Path
To make a prototype available in the Helios 3D list, place it in the „.\CAD\Prototype“ subfolder within your Helios program directory.
You can find the „Program Base Path“ of your installation in the system settings of the database application under the “Common” tab.
To use a prototype for the first time, you need to refresh the list. Simply click the button

in the selection dialog that appears after starting the drawing.
